Privacy Policy

MyStat ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights in connection with the MyStat emergency notification service.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the service:

• Account information: Your name and email address when you create an account.
• Contact information: The names, phone numbers, and email addresses of contacts that you or your approved delegates add to your contact groups. Users represent that they have obtained appropriate consent or authorization before adding a contact to the Service.
• Status message content: The text of status updates that you or your delegates compose and send through the service.
• Opt-in and opt-out metadata: Records of whether a contact has consented to receive messages (e.g., YES reply) or has opted out (e.g., STOP reply).
• Message delivery metadata: Timestamps and related data about when messages were sent and delivery status, where applicable.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above solely to provide transactional emergency and status notifications at the explicit request of users. Messages are sent only when a user or an approved delegate takes action to send an update, and only to contacts who have given explicit consent to receive such messages. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing.

SMS Consent and Third-Party Sharing

SMS opt-in data and consent records are not shared, sold, rented, or otherwise disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their marketing or advertising. Data is used only to operate and provide the MyStat service.

SMS Opt-In Process

Before a contact receives emergency or status updates via SMS, they receive an invitation message. The contact must explicitly reply "YES" (or as otherwise specified in the invitation) to opt in. No further SMS messages are sent to that contact until they have provided this consent.

Opt-Out

Recipients may opt out of SMS at any time by replying "STOP" to any SMS message from the service. Upon receiving STOP, we will cease sending SMS messages to that number. Other contact methods (e.g., email) may have separate opt-out mechanisms where applicable.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal data we collect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include access controls, encryption where appropriate, and secure infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations.
